From a small town in East Texas, Dr. Amerson looks forward to providing custom, comfortable, and effective dental care for our patients. She understands the importance of preserving healthy teeth, and she feels fulfilled when helping others achieve their best smiles. With close to a decade of experience and counting, she brings her expertise and skills to ensure you can get the dental care you deserve!
Why Did You Decide to Become an Orthodontist?
Since she can remember, Dr. Amerson has always had a passion for science as well as connecting and working with others. While there were many career opportunities to pursue, she did have experience in wearing braces to fix her bite. Due to the improvement in both oral health and her confidence, she knew firsthand the significance of orthodontic treatment on a patient’s smile and overall well-being. For this reason, she decided to become an orthodontist and never looked back.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
To start her journey into orthodontic dentistry, Dr. Amerson first went to study at Stephen F. Austin State University to earn her Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology. Afterward, she moved on to earn her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the dental school at The University of Texas at Houston. She then worked to complete her orthodontic residency at The University of Tennessee in Memphis. Today, she stays up-to-date with the newest advances in dentistry through continuing education and is a proud and active member of professional organizations, including the:

- American Academy of Orthodontists
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
If you don’t find her at the office, Dr. Amerson is likely spending her time with her husband and their pet dog. Together, they love to go hiking and even have plans to visit all 63 national parks. Her hobbies also include reading, playing board games, and trying local coffee shops. One fun fact: she’s the first in her family to graduate from college!
